Urban monuments preservation area Český Krumlov [ Městská památková rezervace ]

The first mention of the town dates to 1253, and is connected to the castle and its lord, Vítek.
In 1494 Český Krumlov gained the rights of a Royal Town. The historic core is divided by the river Vltava (Moldau) into the inner town and the Latrán. Among the most important monuments are the Krumlov chateau with the remains of its Gothic defences, the chateau chapel and theatre, the Parish Church of St vitus, houses on nám. Svobody (Concord Square), the Renaissance town hall, a Marian column, the Budweis Gate and the former Jesuit seminary.
