The last step of Vltava cascade built in 1930 - 1935. A part of the work is the gravity dam in the form of movable weir with four spillway fields, lock chamber and water power plant.
The power plant finished in 1936 had at its time the biggest mannual production of electric energy in this country.
The dam serves also recreational puposes.
