The history of Pržno [ History ]

The first documentation dates back to 1573. In 1580 in the land register of demensy is presented, that the village has including the mill 16 holdings and in 1636 only 12 holdings, from them 10 country, 2 horticultural and a mill. It is a safe assumption, that Pržno could originate as soon as in the second half of th 15th century.
In 1637 the Earl Jiří of Oppersdorf bought a mill from the reevence and set up on oil factory by it in Pržno. The village belonged to the parish of Borová (Malenovice), that is why children were to go to school to Borová. Because of a big distance the attendance was very low. Since 1844 it was taught in rented room. In 1856 the village bought for school a small house. On the basis of school law from 1869 in the village was established a separate school. A wooden house was soon unsatisfactory, it was pulled down and on its place was in 1872 built a new school. In 1910 a new church in Pržno was consecrated. It was consecrated to the Virgin Mary conceived unimpeachable from the primordial transgression. A fire service was in the village founded in 1904, Working gymnastics club in 1924 and during the World War II. also sports club Pržno.
