The village lies in the northeast part of the Frýdek-Místek District on the right bank of Žermanice dam. From the morphological point of view the area belongs to the West Carpathians province, Outer West Carpathians, West Beskydy foothills sub-system and Pobeskydí Upland. The western part of the area belongs to the Těšín Upland sub-whole, the east part to the Třinec Cut sub-whole. The terrain is slightly undulating reaching app. the height of 282-378 meters above sea level.
the road (III/4735) first of all connecting the village with Havířov (10 km), Ostrava (40 km)and Frýdek-Místek (14 km) runs through.
